Since it’s summer and the weather (hopefully) has been lovely where you are. Let’s talk about drinking water. Lord knows I need to drink as much as possible as I sit here with a very sunburnt bum. I fell asleep on the beach yesterday for three hours… not a good day today.
Anyways, let’s talk about how I hate paying for water. It kills me how much a simple plastic bottle of water is (not to mention how bad it is for the environment).
Now, I love all of the fantastic options for reusable water bottles. Since college when I discovered my trusty College of Charleston Nalgene 2L water bottle, I haven’t looked back since.
I truly don’t want to admit the amount of reusable water bottles I own (okay… six) but I love and use them all. Anytime you see me I likely have a full water bottle on me – because I do try to drink as much water as I can a day.

Aside from some ugly weather Friday–which we abated by drinking tasty red wine from Slope Cellars–it was a pretty perfect summer weekend, complete with a 6th birthday party at Brooklyn Bridge park, a rooftop brunch at my new favorite Mexican restaurant in the borough, homemade sangria and a quick trip home to Connecticut with the pup and his brand new seat belt (call me crazy, but I just wrote an article about safety restraints for pets and had to get one for Darwin).
The Sing For Hope pianos have also made their appearance throughout the city, which always reminds me of summer. Be sure to keep your eyes open for them if you’re in town!

Today’s photo finish comes from last night’s sunset just outside my apartment window.
They say red sky at night, sailor’s delight and today is just perfect. Gorgeous weather and I’m quite bitter now sitting at my office desk, wishing I was outside playing. Here’s hoping for an early day!
Since last weekend was so action packed, I’m looking forward to calm, relaxing weekend. Only thing on the agenda is a friend and I are going to this Dublin speakeasy for a cocktail making course tomorrow and I couldn’t be more excited. They only tell you where to go two hours before the class in an email then you call a number and they’ll lead you to the speakeasy. Then we’ll learn to make classic cocktails, including a Bourbon Old Fashioned. Mmmm.

Speaking of adorable Etsy shops, I’ve had the link to Skinny laMinx‘s shop saved on my computer for months. I just can’t get enough of these napkins (and here), cushion covers, runners, bags and table cloths, not to mention the way the product shots are styled. I feel like they’re all shouting, “hey! let’s go have a picnic!” in the very best way. Another fun fact? Heather, the shop owner, makes everything from her home in Cape Town, South Africa. Talk about wanderlust.
